Weather: Hot mid-August, but not in the North

Temperatures over 35 degrees in the Center-South, but apart from Rome and Bologna, no large city is marked with a red dot for August XNUMXth - In the North, thunderstorms and normal heat.

Weather: Hot mid-August, but not in the North

It will be a sunny and very hot mid-August weekend in almost all of Italy, even if there will be exceptions. Especially in the North, where the first thunderstorms over the Alps already arrived in the final part of this week. Some rain should also occur over the weekend, especially on Sunday (and also at the beginning of next week, especially in the North-East and in some central regions), which will cause in the northern regions the heat will be more contained: the maximum temperature will be around 30 degrees, or even a little less, in short, absolutely within the norm since we are in the middle of summer.

Much hotter instead in the Center-South, where the African anticyclone will persist and the maximum temperatures should approach 40 degrees in some areas. In any case, in many regions it will be well above 30 degrees, with sultriness especially in urban centres. But according to the Bulletin of the Ministry of Health on heat waves, nothing particularly tragic awaits us: the capitals indicated with a red dot, i.e. the highest alert level (health risks even for healthy and young people), will be only four in the whole country: Rome, Bologna, Campobasso and Rieti. On Sunday 16 August Palermo will be added to these four cities. It should be noted that even a city like Milan will be green dot (level 0, no risk) for the entire weekend.
