Weather, from Thursday stop to record heat

Just a few more days and the whole country will finally be able to breathe, after weeks of anomalous heat that will make the summer remember as one of the hottest since the surveys exist. First however, between Tuesday and Thursday, a new wave of sultriness will keep the Centre-South while the North was momentarily refreshed by the weekend's thunderstorms, temperatures around 40 degrees. The truce, according to forecasts, however, will be short, because shortly before August XNUMXth an unbearable heat should return over the whole peninsula, and persist for about ten days.

The date to mark on the calendar, for those who live from Florence down, is that of Thursday 10 or at the latest Friday 11 August, when there will be a significant drop in temperature. The decrease will be greater in the sectors exposed to winds that will blow from the North, while where land winds will blow, the cooling will be ephemeral.

Some projections also envisage the possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the internal areas of the peninsula and in some cases of the major islands in the second part of the week, but it won't be about a stop of the summer or a break in the summer weather. Indeed, the refreshment will only last two or three days, in fact from Sunday 13 August there will be a new increase in temperature which will start the sixth heat wave of this summer.

The sixth heat wave, according to current forecasts, it shouldn't take on intensity like the fifth one that has interested us for over a week, however it will have to be monitored because it will take place in a period that is still extremely prone to bad heat waves. From 13 to 23 August, especially in central and southern Italy, temperatures could be between 5°C and 10°C higher than the average for the period, even if it is too early to have confirmations.
