A few more days of great heat over Italy, then storms arrive in the North from Sunday – Monday it cools almost everywhere.

Weather, heat: nightmare weekend, then you can breathe

One more last effort, 2-3 days of very intense heat, and then the "African" phase of the summer should come to an end. The weekend ahead will still be very hotespecially on Fridays and Saturdays. Then on Sunday the storms return to the North and mark the date of Monday 24 August: it could represent the end, or at least a decisive respite, from the abnormal heat over all of Italy. In the North, to tell the truth, the African wave had already been smoothed out around August XNUMXth with thunderstorms and milder temperatures, while in the Center and South, especially in the large inland cities, a sultry and oppressive heat remained.

Even if however for the whole week and until Saturday 22 August the bulletin of the Ministry of Health does not report any red alerts in the Italian capitals, but "only" an orange sticker (health risks for the elderly, children, pregnant women, chronically ill people and for practicing outdoor sports during the day) in 8 cities: Bolzano, Brescia, Bologna, Florence, Campobasso, Latina, Rome, Perugia and Rieti. In coastal areas the heat will remain more bearable, even if in some regions, such as Sardinia, maximum temperatures will exceed 40 degrees (but always in the innermost areas, not in Cagliari where, for example, 32 degrees are expected). Red dot Sunday in Rieti and Perugia.

As mentioned, the heat will remain very sustained until Saturday from North to South, then Sunday only in the Center-South with a first drop in the North (Milan 29, from 33 the day before), while Monday will be a "party" for everyone: the rains they will also reach some areas of the Center and temperatures they will return to normal almost everywhere, going below 30 degrees or just above. The hottest cities will be Florence and Bari and in general it will still be very hot, but not terribly hot, in the South.
