Weather: goodbye heat, here comes the rain

A marked change in the weather is coming. According to the meteorologists of the Epson Meteo Center, the high pressure is giving way starting from the Northwest due to the irruption of cooler currents that will bring severe thunderstorms, locally abundant rains and a first evident drop in temperatures, initially on the central-northern regions. During the weekend, the low pressure area that accompanies the perturbation will remain positioned close to our regions, maintaining unstable weather over Italy with a further drop in temperature, which will also affect southern Italy by Sunday. This phase will be accompanied by intense ventilation and temperatures several degrees below the seasonal average, especially in the North.

FRIDAY – Bad weather tomorrow in the Centre-North, with locally heavy rains and thunderstorms over most of the northern regions, central Tyrrhenian regions and inland areas of Central Italy. In the rest of the country we will see an increase in cloud cover, with the exception of the extreme south, where clear spells will remain large. From the evening, the rainfall will tend to partially thin out, except for local showers in the north and between lower Lazio and Campania, areas where showers will still be possible. Temperatures will suffer a further significant drop in the centre-north and in western Sardinia, while a further rise will be observed in the extreme south and it will still be quite hot.

In most of the northern and central Tyrrhenian regions the values will fall below the averages. Winds reinforcing everywhere: Libeccio on the Ligurian Sea, Mistral on Sardinia, Scirocco in the other sectors. Seas from rough to very rough the western seas.

WEEKEND – Over the weekend Italy will be affected by a vast area of low pressure which will maintain variable and at times unstable weather conditions. The rains and thunderstorms will probably mainly affect the northern regions on Saturday and, in a more isolated form, the Marches, the lower Tyrrhenian Sea and Puglia, on Sunday they will affect the north-east, the interior and the Adriatic side of central Italy and the south.

By Sunday, temperatures will also drop definitively in the southern regions, with the exception of still some peaks close to 30 degrees on the Ionian side.
