Merkel: no request for help from Spain

"Spain has not yet asked for any help and Germany will put no pressure on states to accept support." The German Chancellor said so Angela Merkel, as reported by the Bloomberg agency. As for Greece, “we want it to stay in the euro”.

In general, according to the chancellor, Europe "will emerge from the crisis with a solid euro and a future", because “it has all the tools to ensure stable development of the euro area. Now it's up to the individual countries to turn to us, so to speak".

Meanwhile, from the United States, US President Barack Obama once again underlined in a note that "the situation in Europe continues to put headwinds on the American recovery".
