Mercedes-Benz recalls 3 million diesel cars

The German giant Daimler will recall more than 3 million Mercedes-Benz diesel cars in Europe. The group made it known, specifying that "in order to effectively improve the level of emissions of several models, it has decided to extend the voluntary recall action which will therefore include over 3 million Mercedes-Benz cars".

Daimler had already initiated smaller-scale recalls for some compact cars and commercial vehicles to update software that can reduce harmful emissions over a wider range of temperatures than in the past. The Stuttgart public prosecutor's office is conducting a Dieselgate investigation into the German manufacturer, suspected of having sold cars with manipulated emissions.
