Il Consorzio Roma Doc lands for the first time at the Merano Wine Festival prestigious event for industry players and wine enthusiasts celebrating a important milestone: the ceiling of one million bottles well ahead of its time, rImportant result that in this 2022 tastes even more special. Never so soon, in fact, the Capitoline Consortium had in fact reached this number of labels with its signature.

At the thirty-first edition of the Merano Wine Festival, an initiative that has brought together the best Italian and international wineries every year since 1992, as well as breweries, historic distilleries and top-level food proposals, well 25 producers of the Roma DOC Consortium with a selection of labels able to tell the Capitoline terroir in a context that already represents an endorsement by itself.

“Our Consortium is undoubtedly still very young – declares Tullio Galassini, President of the Roma DOC Consortium – but the numbers recorded this year once again confirm that our growth is constant and well directed. Reach the millionth bottle with this advance makes us proud because it certifies an overtaking of previous vintages from a quantitative point of view and, we are sure, also from a qualitative one. The task of the DOC Roma is in fact to export the quality of Roman bottles in Italy and in the world and we intend to once again demonstrate our potential at the next edition of the Merano Wine Festival".

The recurring theme of the world of wine producers: climate change and saving water resources

At the Merano Wine Festival there will be an opportunity for also talk about sustainability, a central issue for the Roma DOC Consortium and for all producers in the agricultural sector. It will be discussed at the Round Table "Water - Environment and Catering: Sustainability in the Field of the Fish Chain and the Agricultural Chain" which will address the problems of the entire viticulture sector extremely affected by the climate change, with a focus also on techniques that allow the productive world to adapt to such changes without abusing water resources

The meeting, scheduled for Saturday 5 November at 13:00, will be moderated by Andrea Pilotti and will see the participation of journalists, chefs, producers and other stakeholders in the sector, including the President of the DOC Roma, Tullio Galassini, to give life to a discussion on good sustainability practices within companies.

“MWF is certainly an important appointment that is part of the program of initiatives that will see the Consortium as the protagonist - concludes Galassini - and that will see us engaged in the coming months in a series of events aimed at promoting and disseminating not only our wines but also, if not above all, of our philosophy and of a new way of describing wine and the territory”.
