Sometimes we stare at each other on a way of interpreting a fact and we are unable to see it from another point of view. The mind needs flexibility, to be able to quickly change the arrangement of information to obtain new information, especially when it needs to make important decisions o solve complex problems.

We are at episode number 27 of the column “Mental gymnastics" for a "Winning Brain” the result of the collaboration of FIRST online with the professor Giuseppe Alfredo Iannoccari, neuropsychologist, professor at the State University of Milan and president of Assomensana, the association for the development and enhancement of mental activities. Every Sunday A stimulating mental gymnastics exercise is proposed on FIRSTonline different mental abilities. In banner on the right of our home page or here all the exercises already published are grouped together, which have stimulated a different ability of our brain each time.

The scientific conference Longeva-mente on September 20th

Thanks to the cooperation between Assomensana and AIMF Health – Italian Association of Functional Medicine – September 20, 2024 will take place in Milan, at the Hotel Melià, via Masaccio 19, the scientific conference LONG-LIVING-MIND from 9am to 18pm. The event will offer an analysis of the latest scientific evidence on the longevity of the mind and brain through various aspects considered to be decisive, such as nutrition, socialisation, bio-physiological conditions and personal care. Mental Gymnastics Exercise #27: “The Fragmented Journey”

This week we propose the exercise “The Fragmented Journey” for the column “The Winning Brain” which develops and strengthens the following mental skills: Selective attention, Concentration, Processing speed, Mental flexibility. The exercise I propose this week is useful for enhance cognitive flexibility , concentration, allowing the brain to reorganize the information in order to obtain optimal results.

Delivery: Put the syllables back together to get the names of 10 cities. NB Each syllable can be used only once.

Execution time: 180 seconds.
