Less losses for Rai, La7's Ebitda improves

The accounts of the two television companies have been published: public television recovered in 2015 compared to the loss of 175 million in 2014, thanks above all to the license fee – The financial statements of the Cairo company are good, with gross operating margin growing.

This was announced in a press release by the TV broadcaster, specifying that license fee revenues, "in consideration of the different impact of the legislative provisions introduced on the subject during 2014 and 2015, increased by 49,4 million". On the other hand, advertising revenues are down for about 15 million. Operating costs decreased by 5,2% while the Group's net financial position at the end of the year stood at -362,4 million.

For its part, La7 improved its balance sheet, achieving a positive gross operating margin of approximately 31 thousand euros compared to a negative ebitda of 1,4 million in the first quarter of 2015. This was announced in a note by the Urbano Cairo-based company, which also specified that the operating result (ebit) was negative by 2 million and benefited in the consolidated financial statements of lower depreciation of 1,9 million due to the write-downs of tangible and intangible assets made in 2013 as part of the allocation of the purchase price of the equity investment in La7. In the first quarter of 2015, the EBIT amounted to -2,7 million.

As far as the magazine publishing sector is concerned, the gross operating margin and the operating result were respectively 2,9 and 2,6 million (3,2 and 3 million in the first quarter of 2015). For the launch of Nuovo and Nuovo TV Cucina total costs of approximately 0,1 million were incurred.
