Meloni government: here is the list of ministers barring last-minute surprises

Parliamentary histories are full of anecdotes about lists of ministers, you start from Palazzo Chigi in one way and end up in another at the Quirinale after the final meeting between the Head of State and the appointed Premier. Prudence therefore also applies in this case, especially for Justice, but at 90% the games are done. Here then the list of possible ministers of the new Government led by Giorgia Meloni.

The agreement between Meloni and Berlusconi: 5 ministries, but no Justice

After truce signed yesterday by Giorgia Meloni and Silvio Berlusconi, the new center-right government team begins to take shape. During yesterday's face-to-face meeting at the Fratelli d'Italia headquarters in via della Scrofa, the Knight should have obtained the "equal dignity" he had already clamored for in the first hours following the elections, where Forza Italia obtained percentages very close to the Lega (-0,7% in the Senate and -0,6% in the Chamber), but was penalized by the subdivision of constituencies.

An "equal dignity" which, armchairs in hand, translates into five ministries - Foreign Affairs, Ecological Transition, Institutional Reforms, University and Public Administration -, as many as those who should go to the League which, however, will also be able to count on the +1, i.e. Giancarlo Giorgetti to the Ministry of Economy.

A half satisfaction for Berlusconi who, however, will have to give up the seat he most wanted: the one in via Arenula. Despite the attempts of the president of FI, in fact, Giorgia Meloni has no intention of changing her plans for the Ministry of Justice, where should the former prosecutor and newly elected in the ranks of the Brothers of Italy, Carlo Nordio.

The list of ministers of the Meloni government

In view of the start of the consultations, the most important boxes are almost all initialed, with some doubts to be resolved on Culture and Health. Obviously, once he has received the job, Meloni will have to deal with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. In the meantime, however, here is the list of ministers:

  • Antonio Tajani (Forza Italia): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the World
  • Matteo Salvini (Lega) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure
  • Giancarlo Giorgetti (Lega): ministry ofEconomy and Finance
  • Carlo Nordio (Former magistrate and deputy of the Brothers of Italy): minister of Justice
  • Maria Elvira Calderone (President of the Council of the Order of Labor Consultants): minister of Work
  • Matteo Piantedosi (prefect, wanted by the League): minister ofInternal
  • Guido Crosetto (founder of Fratelli d'Italia): minister of the Economical progress with Power Delegation
  • Gilberto Pichetto Fratin (Forza Italia): Minister of Ecological Transition
  • Raffaele Fitto (Brothers of Italy): Minister of the European affairs
  • Elisabetta Alberti Casellati (Forza Italia): Minister of reforms
  • Adolfo Urso (Brothers of Italy): Minister of DEFENSE
  • Anna Maria Bernini (Forza Italia): minister of theUniversity
  • Alessandro Cattaneo (Forza Italia): Minister of Public Administration
  • Roberto Calderoli (League) Minister of Regional affairs
  • Gian Marco Centinaio (Lega): minister ofAgriculture
  • Maurizio Lupi (We Moderates): Minister of Relations with Parliament

The armchairs still poised

Another ministry to be assigned to the League should be education or family – for which the name of Simona Baldassare circulates – or even the Disability, which at first seemed to be able to remain the current minister Erika Stefani, even if her quotations would be declining.

For Ministry of Health the competition would be between two names: Francesco Rocca, president of the Red Cross very close to Meloni, and Orazio Schillaci, rector of the Tor Vergata University.

According to Corriere della Sera, Giordano Bruno Guerri could be in the running for the seat of Minister of Culture, while Chiara Colosimo, councilor of the Lazio Region, could become minister of the Sports and Tourism. Rumors also about the former president of the Sicily Region, Nello Musumeci, al Noon.

At Palazzo Chigi, like undersecretary to the presidency, Meloni should bring the trusted Giovanbattista Fazzolari with him but in recent days it was speculated, in the event that Fazzolari had assumed the powers to implement the program, also to a technical figure. One name was that of Giuseppe Chiné, Daniele Franco's current chief of staff. But Giorgetti is said to have asked to keep him at the Mef, if it really will be his turn to sit at Quintino Sella's desk.
