Melfi, the court upholds Fiat's appeal

The court upheld Fiat's appeal to Melfi. For the moment, the workers Giovanni Barozzino, Antonio Lamorte and Marco Pignatelli will not be able to return to their jobs in the Satai factory in the Lingotto. The three had been suspended, fired and subsequently reinstated by the labor judge, a measure which the Turin company opposed. This morning, as Fiat's lawyers left the courtroom, there were moments of tension on the part of some workers, who shouted "shame on" several times. The lawyers left the courthouse escorted by Digos agents.

In these hours the workers are in conversation with their defenders and with some trade unionists. “We are deeply indignant – said the leader of Fiom, Maurizio Landini – also because, inexplicably, some of the evidence we presented was not accepted. In any case, the judge, while not acknowledging Fiat's anti-union behavior, let it be understood that the three workers did not engage in premeditated and illegitimate behavior that would justify the dismissals. For Fiom, the game is still open”.
