Mediolanum, 2012 profit at 291,5 million despite write-down in Mediobanca

The results for the nine months incorporate a write-down of the investment in Mediobanca of 66 million euro without which the net profit would have amounted to 357,7 million.

Mediolanum archives the third quarter with net profit of approximately 74 million euros (€291,5 million over nine months) after recording an interest margin of €79,5 million (€237,9 million in the first three quarters) compared to €60,15 million in the corresponding period of 2011.

This was announced in a note, adding that an interim dividend of 0,10 euro per share has been approved (it was 0,07 euro last year). In the quarter, performance fees amounted to approximately 58,5 million (approximately 133,85 in the nine months) and net profits on investments at fair value were realized for 30,12 million (110,2 million from January to the end of September) .

The nine month results incorporate a write-down of the investment in Mediobanca equal to 66 million euro without which the net profit would have amounted to 357,7 million. Mediolanum shares are tentatively positive after the release of the quarterly report, having fluctuated during the session between an increase of 1,5% and a decrease of 1,7%.
