Mediobanca: on Generali sales for 310 million, about 1,5% of the capital

The market wonders why Mediobanca's sales of Generali shares in the month of January alone reached 1,5% of the capital of the Lion and many operators link them to the ongoing fibrillation on Fonsai

Mediobanca: on Generali sales for 310 million, about 1,5% of the capital

In January Mediobanca carried out trading on Generali shares and options for a total value of 310 million euro, equal to approximately 1,5% of the capital of the Lion. This is what emerges from the internal dealing communications, punctually reported by the Radiocor agency of the Il Sole 24 Ore group. In particular, Mediobanca carried out purchases and sales of Generali shares for 2 million between 16 and 184,8 January and for another 49,2 million between 17 and 31 January. Then between 12 and 23 January, Radiocor reports again, Piazzetta Cuccia carried out trades on call options and put options of Generali for a value of 55,1 million euros and between 24 and 31 January for 20,7 million.

Why this whirlwind of trades coming from Piazzetta Cuccia? According to various operators, the purchases of Generali shares should be placed in the fibrillation linked to the Fonsai case: both Mediobanca and Palladio are shareholders of the Lion of Trieste.
