"The doubling of seats dedicated to minorities, the greater number of independent directors and their particular professional qualifications contribute to a clear improvement in the governance of the bank": the CEO of Mediobanca, Alberto Nagel, thus commented on the slate for the new board of the institute of Piazzetta Cuccia presented yesterday by the agreement and which will be elected by the bank's assembly on 28 October.
The list, which confirms the top management of Mediobanca (Nagel, Pagliaro and Vinci), includes the news of Cesar Alierta of Telefonica and Massimo Tononi (ex Borsa Italiana), while Tarak Ben Ammar is leaving.
The shareholders' meeting of the Mediobanca pact, which will be amended from 2018 January 2018, established that each participant in the pact itself may cancel after a year, starting from 2019, which - after the recent exit of Pirelli - suggests the final termination of the agreement at the end of 30,7, an agreement which currently controls XNUMX% of Mediobanca's share capital.
