Mediobanca opens to the spin-off project of the Telecom Italia network

In the Mediobanca shareholders' meeting, Alberto Nagel explains that Piazzetta Cuccia "looks with interest at proposals that change the perimeter of Telecom Italia if they can generate value", will support the recapitalization of RCS, approves the Greco line in Generali and hopes for a solution between Tronchetti and Malacalza in Pirelli

Yes to the spin-off of the network from Telecom Italia, yes to the recapitalization of RCS, yes to the Greco line in Generali and hopes for an agreement between Tronchetti Provera and Malacalza in Pirelli. This is what was claimed in the Mediobanca shareholders' meeting, where Cariverona announced that it had dropped from 3,1 to 2,1% of the share capital.

TELECOM ITALIA - "We look with interest - said Nagel - at proposals that change the perimeter if they can generate value".

RCS – "Mediobanca has only one interest: the relaunch of the company". therefore, despite the plans to reduce its exposure to the equity of the investee companies, “it would not be responsible to leave RCS in the middle of a meadow. Of course we expect the plan to be up to the difficulties of the moment”.

FONSAI – After having secured Mediobanca's exposure to the Fonsai group, Nagel maintained that there is a concrete possibility of obtaining a repayment of around 350 million next year.

GENERALI – According to Nagel, Giovanni Perissinotto's departure from the top management of Leone "was not a departure from his management" but the premise for "laying the foundations for a new period" and in this sense Mediobanca is "totally aligned" with the first moves of the new CEO Mario Greco who has changed the team and the governance of the Trieste group and is preparing the new plan.

PIRELLI – The disagreement between Tronchetti Provera and Malacalza cannot last long and, according to Nagel, "a solution will have to be found between the two partners: we don't think it is impossible".
