Mediaset overturns the table with Vivendi: "See you in court"

The negotiations between Mediaset and Vivendi are off and, barring new surprises, the two parties will meet in court at the end of February for the dispute over the cancellation of the contract for the purchase of Premium by the French.

Mediaset overturns the table with Vivendi: "See you in court"

Goodbye negotiations, see you in court. Mediaset loses patience and no longer trusts Vincent Bollorè and Vivendi: the return to the judicial dispute takes the place of the negotiations that seemed to be able to lead to peace after the dispute over the purchase repudiated by the French of Premium, the Berlusconi's pay TV. But to blow everything up, according to Mediaset's interpretation, is the breakup of the joint between Canal+ and Tim, of which Vivendì is the main shareholder. Reversal in the face, the latter, due to the halt of Consob and Tim's independent advisers who have imposed the review of the joint to avoid conflicts of interest and who have therefore for now frozen the purchase of Mediaset content by the telephone company .

At this point Mediaset took the court way again, where, barring new twists and turns, the two parties will meet again on February 27 for the dispute on the French cancellation of the contract on Premium.

Naturally at the end of February there are 40 days left and everything is still possible, even the fact that the parties find the path of dialogue rather than that of judicial dispute, but the road is uphill and a deal is unlikely to blossom before the March 4 general election, after which the general picture could change if Silvio Berlusconi's centre-right were to return to Palazzo Chigi.
