Mediaset, the divorce from Sky costs 500 viewers. Storm on Rai for Vespa – Casamonica

MEDIASET AND RAI IN THE STORM. The Biscione loses 500 viewers after the encryption of its channels by Sky. A different problem for state TV which ended up at the center of the controversy after the episode dedicated to the Casamonicas.

Mediaset, the divorce from Sky costs 500 viewers. Storm on Rai for Vespa – Casamonica

The voluntary divorce from Sky is not good for Mediaset. The first day of absence from Murdoch's platform cost Alfa more than 500 spectators.

The greatest damage was received on prime time. Although in Cologno Monzese they had decided to play the Checco Zalone card, broadcasting the blockbuster film "Casco dalle Nubi", Auditel data recorded "only" 3 million 802 thousand spectators, compared to 4 million 341 on Tuesday of the Previous week. It doesn't get better in terms of share, with Canale 5 which drops from 19,97 to 15,74%.

On the other hand, the progress of Rete 4 and Italia 1 should be noted: the first gained 50 viewers compared to Tuesday 1 September, the second even grew by 300 despite the encryption.

However, adding up the results of the three networks, the data becomes negative again. The blackout of its channels from Sky made Mediaset lose more than 2 percentage points of share (from 29,99 to 26,27%).

But if Mediaset cries, Rai doesn't laugh. Although in terms of ratings the state-owned company cannot complain, the record set yesterday by Door to Door in the episode dedicated to Casamonica caused a flurry of controversy and accusations.

While the Campidoglio asks for a formal apology from the company, speaking of "Insulting Rome". Harsh comment by Ignatius Marino: “The Casamonica family's participation in one of the flagship broadcasts of the Rai public service is serious. Beyond paradoxical. Yesterday evening, in fact, more than a million spectators essentially attended a replay of the spectacular and mafia funerals that had already hit the newspapers. – continues the mayor of the capital – If the indecorous staging in Piazza Don Bosco had found those in charge of public order unprepared and surprised, due to a lack of information, this time the 'representation' was studied at a table. And therefore it is without excuses. I believe that none of this is acceptable in a public service, - concludes Marino - especially in consideration of the seriousness of the mafia risk that weighs on the city and the threats suffered by those in Rome who are personally involved against the mafia".
