Mediaset, on 30 July the Cassation will rule on Berlusconi's conviction for tax fraud

The hearing in Cassation for the Mediaset trial has been set in record time. Only on Tuesday did Berlusconi's defense appeal against the tax fraud conviction arrive, and the date for the hearing was immediately set: on July 30. The sentence on which the Cassation will decide was issued by the Milan Court of Appeal on May 8 and sentenced Silvio Berlusconi to 4 years' imprisonment and 5 years' disqualification from public office for the crime of tax fraud. In addition to the Cavaliere's appeal, the judges of the Cassation will have to examine those presented by the film producer Frank Agrama and the former Mediaset managers Gabriella Galetto and Daniele Lorenzano.

Immediate comment by Frank Coppi, recently entered Berlusconi's defense team: “I'm amazed, you've never seen anything like this. We were counting on having more time to carry out our insights. I'm surprised and embittered: it's a fixation of hearing between head and neck”. In defense of the Knight, the ever-faithful also exposed herself Daniela Santanchè: "The words of the lawyer Coppi are the certainty that there is no justice for the president Silvio Berlusconi". "I'm not into it anymore: no more divisions, no more hesitations – he added – we need to take action".

They express their dissent for the times of justice "so unusually fast" too Enrico Bondi and Mariastella Gelmini. The former said he was ready for "forms of resistance, albeit non-violent". Gelmini, on the other hand, went down harder: “The Cassation confirms the plan to want to eliminate Berlusconi. Only with him can justice be so fast. By speeding up the process, the rights of the defense are blatantly trampled on, but it seems that some judges don't care much about this".   Fabrizio Cicchitto, the decision of the Supreme Court to bring forward the hearing "destabilizes the government, whose composition and political majority are completely unwelcome to specific judicial, editorial, financial and political circles".
