Mediaset runs on the stock exchange, beacon on Vivendi

Little eventful morning on the market front. While London remains closed, in Piazza Affari all the spotlights are on Parmalat and Mps, the two "trend topics" of these Christmas days. Mediaset, after a positive but cautious start, earns the title of mid-day protagonist, with continuous increases, stops and entries in volatility

Despite the fact that in Piazza Affari all the lights are focused on the developments of the situations Parmalat Ps, the positive protagonist of the morning is certainly Mediaset.

After a positive start (+0,50%), the stock managed to gain up to 8,33% to €4,33 after a stop due to excess volatility. Vivendi's French reiterated their willingness to negotiate with the giant from Cologno Monzese to find an agreement. Bollorè continues to remain positive on the possibility of creating a new large pan-European media group.

The French have reached the threshold of 30% of Mediaset (now 29,94% of the voting rights) and also own 24,5% of Telecom Italia. Before Christmas, AgCom launched an investigation into the position of the transalpine group in the two companies and Vivendi's CEO Arnaud de Puyfontaine was heard in Consob.

In the event that Vivendi were prevented from joining Mediaset, due to a dangerous shareholding relationship with Telecom Italia, then Fininvest could enter the capital of the telecommunications company, leaving the field free for Bollorè for Mediaset.

Up to now, according to analysts, it is only a question of speculation and hypotheses, which however contribute to arousing interest in the title. In fact, Mediaset gained 6,38% at the end of the morning.
