Mediaset, Berlusconi: "Blackmail and extortion from Vivendi"

"I can't even imagine a Mediaset not led by my family". To say it is a Silvio Berlusconi particularly combative, who during the presentation of Bruno Vespa's latest book launches a decisive attack on Vivendi: "Perhaps Vivendi decided to force action to make us renounce the lawsuits we have filed: we were blackmailed, extorted and therefore we are in a battle facing this hostile takeover and we plan to resist".

“Vivendi – added the Knight – three times did not keep his word and it is something that cannot be accepted, we believe that the judiciary must follow up on our cases, the judges must agree with us. We find ourselves in the absurd situation of not being able to purchase shares because Italian law requires that a shareholder can only buy 5% per year. The French had a good time buying 29% and we stopped at 40%. To reach 51% I hope that those committees for the defense of Mediaset's Italian character can lead us to count on the vote of around 20% of the shares which are in the hands of different shareholders”.
