This is what we read today in the pages of Il Sole 24 Ore, which underlines how the American fast food giant wants to expand the plan of the last three years which has already led to the opening of another 100 restaurants in our country.

The business newspaper assumes a rate of around 35-40 openings a year which will lead to the end of this expansion at around 7000 assumptions overall. Currently in Italy there are almost 20 employees of Mc Donald's (from 2010 to today they have increased by almost 6 thousand units).

There are currently over 500 Mc Donald's restaurants in Italy and the declared objective of the managing director of Mc Donald's Italia Roberto Masi is to get to 1200, reaching a penetration rate of about one every 50 inhabitants and thus arriving at a number of restaurants close to those currently present in France (1200), Germany (1500) and the United Kingdom (1380).

In the programs of the multinational there will also be the spin-off of the corners McCafe from Mc Donald's restaurants. There are currently 250 Mc Cafès in Italy inside McDonald's restaurants and the US group's idea is to split the two businesses as early as next November, when a Mc Cafè will be inaugurated in Florence in the square in front of Santa Maria Novella station .

After a period of uncertainty, Mc Cafès now represent an important slice of Mc Donald's turnover in Italy: it has gone from 1% at the beginning to the current 8% and today in McDonald's where there is also a McCafè, 23% receipts come from the cafeteria.
