Mayor Raggi, too many amnesias and omissions on Rome's waste

The mayor of Rome, under pressure from the waste emergency and the dangerous proximity of his environment councilor, goes on the counterattack ("For 30 years Pd and Ama have slept on waste") but, if the municipal company slept, the super consultant Muraro where was he? – And nothing to say about Alemanno's responsibilities? It is not the first time that Raggi has closed its eyes to the responsibilities of the worst right in the capital.

Mayor Raggi, too many amnesias and omissions on Rome's waste

It is not surprising that, since the 5 Star Movement conquered Rome by storming the Campidoglio, the attention of the media and political forces on the Giunta Raggi has been growing day by day. Not for anti-grillini prejudices, which also exist, and not even for local regurgitations. More simply because for the movement of Beppe Grillo the Rome test is not local but a national test: if the Movimento 5 Stelle demonstrates with the Giunta Raggi that it knows how to govern a very complicated city like the capital, it is clear that it will draw strength from it to run as a candidate for the political leadership of the country. Otherwise the grilline sails will soon deflate, exactly as happened to the League.

Of course, it cannot be said that the launch of the Giunta Raggi was the most exciting, even if it cannot be expected that Raggi has the magic wand: the waste emergency, which unfortunately also implies worrying health risks, and the overpaid continuity of the Councilor for the Environment Paola Murari with the worst administrations of the municipal waste company (the Ama), those headed by the former president Panzironi, a trusted man of the former MSI mayor Alemanno, have certainly not been a good encouragement.

Today Raggi went on the counterattack in the City Council hall accusing the Ama and the Pd of having slept on the waste crisis for thirty years. Right, but in the intervention of the mayor of Rome there are omissions and silences that make his line completely ambiguous and not very credible, as often happens.

First: the Democratic Party has had great responsibilities in the degradation of the capital but, when we talk about an emergency, how can we forget the obvious responsibilities of the Alemanno council? How is it that, every time the capital's worst right comes into play, Raggi closes her eyes and forgets? It's not the first time this has happened to her: during the electoral campaign she had forgotten to report her traineeship as a lawyer in the office of that champion of the corrupt and pro-fascist right who was the former minister Cesare Previti, then she minimized her presidency in a municipal company close to the former mayor Alemanno and now, precisely on the responsibilities of that nefarious junta, it is closing its eyes. How come?

Second: it is very true that the Ama (in addition to the Pd-led administrations) has slept guiltily while in Rome the emergency was growing, but where was the super consultant Paola Muraro? By any chance, was she asleep too?

Virginia Raggi swept the last municipal elections and has every right to govern the capital in complete tranquility, but there is one thing that she is not allowed either: that of believing that the Romans, of any political party, are all fools. The sooner she will realize that amnesias, omissions and ambiguities take away the credibility of his council, the better it will be for everyone. And also for her.
