The cycle of meetings connected to some of the most beautiful exhibitions taking place at the beginning of the new year opens with the international photographer Paolo Pellegrin, followed by the one with the artist Monica Bonvicini

While the exhibition is underway at the MAXXI Museum in Rome Paul Pellegrin. An anthology until next 10 March, the museum's tradition of organizing a series of meetings entitled "Author Conversations" continues with the main artists whose works enter in the building designed by Zaha Hadid. The first meeting of the new year is the one starring the photographer Paolo Pellegrin, a member of the Magnum agency since 2005, winner of 11 World Press Photo Awards and other prestigious awards around the world such as the Robert Capa Gold Medal Award and the Eugene Smith Award and Historian New York Times Magazine photo editor Kathy Ryan.

The event will be held Wednesday January at 16 18.00 and wants to retrace the stages of a photographic activity lasting more than twenty years, redefining the time line of a research work guided by the desire to bear witness to our time through shots in which the planning and aesthetic sensibility reflect an intimate and always personal. "A gaze so broad as to be able to render the beauty and elegance of the subjects with skill and halftones [...] a commitment always aimed at ordinary people, at those lives upended by extraordinary events", said Kathy Ryan on Paolo Pellegrin.

The exhibition contains over 150 images to investigate the creative path and the themes dear to the research of the great photographer who has traveled all over the world escorted by his camera and telling stories of men, wars, humanitarian emergencies.

The next meeting of the "Author Conversations" cycle is scheduled for Wednesday 23 January, and this time it will join the exhibition The street. Where the world is created where the artist Monica Bonvicini invites the visitor to question the boundary between public and private, explicitly urging them not to "lose a second" of what is happening around us, in the street. Monica Bonvicini will be interviewed by Hanru Hou MAXXI artistic director.
