What are the children of Italy's most famous nursery school doing at MAXXI? They make us, when the eye of Nino Migliori takes their pictures and the tender confusion of the little ones becomes art.
The MAST Foundation presents in Rome, Tuesday 12 June, in collaboration with the MAXXI Foundation, "Favole di luce", an exhibition that illustrates the educational path conceived and conducted by Nino Migliori in the photography atelier of the MAST School Nursery since 2015 .There will be Giovanna Melandri, President of the MAXXI Foundation, the architects Radostina Radulova e Deniza Holänder by STUDIOD3R and Marcello Fantuz. And of course it won't be missing Nino Best, the great photographer "animated by a spirit of tireless research and a contagious enthusiasm", as the official presentation describes him.
"Nino - continues the note from the Mast Foundation - for over two years has accompanied children and educators to discover the photographic medium as a form of writing, a surprising mechanism for the creation of narrating images. Together with their teacher, children aged 3 to 5 learned to use off-camera techniques such as oxidations, cellograms, polarigrams, lucigrams, photograms, discovering new ways of observing, narrating and transforming their world, methodically and with fantasy together”.
From this surprising collaboration "a cheerfully confused multiplicity of images has arisen that narrate the extraordinary event of living: feet, hearts, leaves, dogs, trees, circles, pyramids, detached or assembled pieces, teddy bears, balls, gauze, wrenches, gears, children in movement”.
MAXXI – with the expert eye of Margaret Guccione e Pippo Ciorra of the Architecture division – has decided to host this unconventional exhibition and to give an account of this extraordinary experience with 87 works that accompany visitors to discover the creative process conceived by Nino Migliori and the "fairy tales of light" written by children, free expression their thoughts, their emotions and their desires.
