Maserati, new Quattroporte presented: sales target of 50 units for 2015

Maserati presented in Nice the sixth generation of the Quattroporte sedan, thanks to which the Italian automaker aims at a sales target of 50 units for 2015. The new models will be previewed at the Detroit Auto Show, and will be marketed in Europe in January, to then arrive in China and the United States.

According to Maserati CEO Harald Wester, sales of the new Quattorporte should be around 80 units for its entire life cycle, and around 13-15 units for 2013 alone. The price should be between 100 and 150 euros.

Wester then announced the upcoming introduction, starting in the third quarter of 2013, a third production shift in the Grugliasco plant, whose expected workforce will rise from 1100 to 1500 units, through a redemption plan involving 450 employees. The plant will produce about 20 cars next year, with an average of close to 200 cars a day. Wester then stated that "Modena is and will remain the productive heart of Maserati", which, however, will be joined by two other plants.
