The obligation to wear masks in RSa, in the hospital infectious disease departments And in the Emergency room will remain in force. This was confirmed by the Minister of Health Horace Schillaci on the sidelines of the medal ceremony for public health at the Quirinale, specifying that it will arrive today ordinance which will also extend the obligation for the next few months, providing new indications.
Mask obligation: the previous ones
The previous ordinance which provided for the obligation to wear masks in nursing homes and hospitals it will expire on April 30th.
In December 2022, when the Meloni government established a new extension on the obligation to wear a mask in RSA, emergency rooms and hospitals, the minister said: "We have not lifted the obligation and we will renew it: wearing masks in hospital is a form of respect towards the weakest patients”.
Masks: the rules from January 30th
The new ordinance establishes a reduction of areas of hospitals where patients, staff and visiting relatives will have to wear a mask. The obligation will remain in the RSA, in the hospital wards of infectious diseases and in the emergency rooms it will remain in force both for staff and for those arriving on visits. From May 1, however, masks will no longer be mandatory nor recommended in bars, canteens and hospital waiting rooms.
