Three days of tastings, shows, music, exhibitions, conferences, meetings with farmers and artisans: all this is Marsicaland, the widespread Festival, ambassador of the agro-food excellences of the food and wine culture and traditions of the Marsican-Fucense territory which will be held ad Avezzano, from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th September

It will be a real one party to discover the recipes and the best agri-food products of Marsica and Fucino – the organizers assure – with the aim of combining tasting with knowledge with a walk among the stalls of the open-air market. And also photographic exhibitions, concerts and costume parades for discover the true identity of this land, often little known but historically devoted to agriculture and with a culinary tradition with strong roots.

"Excellent products, craftsmanship and love for the territory - underlines Ernesto Di Renzo, professor of Anthropology of Taste and Anthropology of cultural heritage at the University of Tor Vergata, as well as Scientific Coordinator of MarsicaLand - this is where Marsicaland was born. Not only the festival celebrating the immense cultural heritage that has always belonged to this territory, but a meeting point between farmers and tourists from all over the Peninsula. At Marsicaland, food and wine are the key to understanding this land in depth through tastings and products that every day carry forward the historic agri-food vocation of Marsica and Fucino. And it is precisely from this that the Piatto and Aperitivo Marso, two contests designed to create new traditions around which to recognize and tell the identity of this land, starting from the excellence of the territory. From dairy products to cereals, from fine meats to legumes, potatoes, fennel and all the other vegetables that are symbols of these areas”.

It starts on Friday 6th September with the opening of the stand of the Direct Earth Market that will accompany visitors to discover the typical agri-food products all weekend. At 16.30:XNUMX pm it will be time for the photographic exhibition “Fucinus tellus. The female side of agricultural work” at the ex Montessori cultural center, followed by the conference Marsica strategica. Local development policies between present operations and future projects.

“Operational perspectives and best practices in the Marsican agri-food sector: the role of young entrepreneurs”

 At 18.30:XNUMX pm the guided tasting of the Marso Aperitif will begin, curated by local bartenders (a competition that saw the victory of Gianluca Mariani's ''Marsica Bloody'' based on tomato extract, with a savoury Gin reminiscent of Lake Fucino, a sprinkling of aromatic herbs from the Angizia forest and a pancotto foam with stale Conte bread) and in the evening, again in Piazza Risorgimento, the band music concert.

Saturday opens with the workshop “The role of the school for the integrated development of the territory”, focused on the training and professionalization activities of young people from Marsican. At 17.00:XNUMX pm the conference “Operational perspectives and best practices in the Marsican agri-food sector: the role of young entrepreneurs”, organized in collaboration with trade associations and the University of Teramo. At 18.30 pm the tasting of high altitude wines in collaboration with the Marsicana Sommelier Association and a Latin American music concert to conclude. The last day, Sunday, opens with a historical costume parade through the streets of Avezzano, followed, at 17.00:XNUMX p.m., by a cooking show with the chefs participating in the Piatto Marso contest, featuring the most representative recipes of the area, followed by an ethnic music concert.
