Marco Morelli returns to the field. The manager, former managing director of Monte dei Paschi di Siena, is the new one executive chairman of Axa Investment Managers. He replaces Gérald Harlin who, after 30 years in the group, decided to retire at the end of September, remaining a member of the Board of Directors. A note from Axa announces it

Morelli, who will also join the management committee of Axa, will report to the managing director of the parent company, Thomas Buberl. According to the press release, she will assume his duties on September 14, in Paris. 

Professor at the Luiss Faculty of Economics, where he graduated, from 2016 until last March he led Mps, previously held various positions at JP Morgan Europe, Intesa San Paolo and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. 

Morelli said he was "honored" to join Axa "a global leader in insurance". Thanking the outgoing manager, Buberl affirmed that the Italian manager's 36 years of experience in banking and finance will be a key asset for the development of Axa Im.

Axa IM is wholly owned by AXA. The firm bills itself as “a global, multi-asset investor with an active, long-term approach to providing its clients with the solutions they need to secure the future of their investments, with a positive impact on society”. With around €100 billion of assets under management at the end of March 804, net inflows of +€2020 billion and revenues of €13 billion in 1,2, AXA IM employs over 2019 people worldwide in 2.350 offices in 30 countries.
