Marchionne relaunches the GM idea: today a meeting with Mary Barra

Sergio Marchionne back to work for a can integration between Fiat-Chrysler and General Motors. FCA's number one will meet today Mary Barra, CEO of GM. The interview will take place during a meeting with the top managers of the automotive sector organized by the US Minister of Transportation, Anthony Foxx.

“I have to leave this morning because I have a meeting with Anthony Foxx, the transport secretary, who has summoned all the auto bosses. Barra will also be there, it's the first time I've seen her, but the meeting was organized by others, not by me,” Marchionne said on the sidelines of the Council seminar for relations between Italy and the United States underway in Washington.

Marchionne explained that FCA has looked at all the big competitors "in a rather detailed way", including Volkswagen. “GM, as I see it, based on current results, is the one that offers the best in terms of synergies,” concluded Marchionne.
