Marchionne tops the podium of the highest paid managers in 2014

Sergio Marchionne climbs to the top step of the podium in the special standings of the highest paid Italian super managers in 2014. This was revealed by the weekly L'Espresso which, in tomorrow's issue, will present the top 100 of the highest salaries among those of top managers of companies listed on the Stock Exchange.

In tomorrow's in-depth analysis on Espresso we underline how in 2014 65% of managing directors of the major companies listed on the Stock Exchange received a salary greater than or equal to that of the previous year. It was therefore Sergio Marchionne which recorded the best salary in 2014 with almost 9 million. A figure that triples if payments in FCA securities and other incentives are calculated. Behind Marchionne, on the square of honor here we find Luca Bettonte, CEO of the energy group Erg, which received a salary of 2014 million euros in 5,7. On the lowest step of the podium we find Pietro Salini which, remaining in terms of engines, is voiced by Sergio Marchionne. For the Salini-Impregilo number one, 'only' a 4,3 million euro salary.

L'Espresso also points out that among the novelties of last year, in Italy, there are the incoming incentives, an extra fee for convincing super managers to accept a job and switch shirts. This is the case, for example, of Adil Mehboob-Khan who has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Luxottica after receiving a incoming fee of 9 million euros. The same goes for the banker Piero Luigi Montani, who took over the leadership of Carige with an 'entry fee' of over one million. Staying on the subject of bankers it should be noted that the highest paid in 2014 is the number one of Unicredit Federico Ghizzoni which earned just over 3 million.
