Marcegaglia: "The objectives of the maneuver are good, now we need to transform them into rules"

Confindustria's response to the maneuver is positive, but with one caveat: we must move from words to deeds as soon as possible. In the text approved yesterday evening by the Council of Ministers “there are some important stages – underlined today the president of the industrialists, Emma Marcegaglia, on the sidelines of the national assembly of Federmeccanica – but they still have to be implemented. We are addressing the Government to say that some objectives are fine but must be quickly transformed into standards".

In particular, Marcegaglia emphasized the need to "carry out the fiscal delegation and the liberalisations", which are "necessary for growth". In the provision approved by the government, however, there is at least one serious flaw that has disappointed the president of Confindustria: there is no reference to "the costs of politics". A measure that had been heavily sponsored by the industrialists. “We hope that something will be done quickly,” concluded Marcegaglia.
