Maneuver, pincers on the school

The draft of the provision that will arrive in the Council of Ministers on Thursday intends to prevent the number of professorships from rising again from 2012, thus confirming the content of Law 133 - Other cuts in sight for support for disabled students - Temporary principals in smaller institutions.

Maneuver, pincers on the school

The maneuver discussed today in Palazzo Grazioli also provides for a heavy squeeze on the school. The intention is to prevent the number of administrative, technical and auxiliary professorships and posts from increasing again from 2012. Other objectives are to extend to all teaching staff the skills on support for disabled pupils (on the same issue, the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation had expressed its opinion a few days ago), to increase checks on the diagnoses that indicate didactic support for pupils with learning problems , merge the secretariats of the nursery, elementary and middle schools, and entrust the smaller institutes to temporary principals. Schools with fewer than 500 pupils, reduced to 300 for institutions located on small islands, in mountain municipalities, in geographical areas characterized by linguistic specificities, will remain without tenured managers.

The government's intention to maintain the suppression of about 85 teaching posts and at least another 45 as support school staff is evident in the drafts circulating on the budget package. "Starting from the 2012/2013 school year - it reads - the organic endowments of the school's teaching, educational and ATA staff must not exceed the consistency of the related organic endowments of the same staff determined in the 2011/2012 school year in application of the article 64 of the law of 6 August 2008, n. 133”.
