Maneuver Monti in the Senate, the exam is underway

It is almost certain that after the general discussion the Government will place the trust, as it has already done in the Chamber – 180 amendments and about 200 agendas have been presented, but the definitive approval could arrive as early as tomorrow.

Maneuver Monti in the Senate, the exam is underway

Final sprint for the economic maneuver of the Monti government, which arrived this morning in the Senate floor for the second and (probably) last parliamentary passage. It is now almost certain that, after the general discussion, the Executive will once again put its trust in the provision, after having already received it from the Chamber. The final vote is final conversion of the decree into law will probably arrive tomorrow.

Yesterday, late in the evening, the Budget and Finance commissions of Palazzo Madama gave the go-ahead without introducing changes to the text approved by the Montecitorio assembly. The there are about 180 amendments and mainly come from Idv and Lega, while the agendas are around 200 and were presented by all groups.

It is very probable that they will all be rejected by the Government for the most frequent reason: lack of financial coverage. Furthermore, reworking the text would mean imposing a third reading in the Chamber. Which would prevent final approval by the Christmas break.
