The deputy prime minister values the maneuver at 30-33 billion and confirms 7 billion for the basic income. But he announces heavier cuts on the so-called golden pensions, over 4 thousand euros: "We will also deny them the adjustment to inflation" - Tria negotiates to the bitter end in Brussels

Maneuver, Di Maio tries to reassure but the accounts do not add up

"This is a maneuver worth around 30-33 billion, which puts fresh resources into the economy". Word of the Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio, who from the living room of Mattino Cinque tries to reassure voters about the fate of the basic income and the 100 quota. There will be no cut: it was possible reduce the deficit from 2,4 to 2,04% because “there is money left over. We had foreseen more than we needed”.

“Income, for example, will cost 1,2 -1,3 billion less because it starts in March, even if the citizenship and disability pensions will arrive from February. Instead, for the 100 share, considering the ban on accumulation, we have 2 billion and a few hundred million less,” added di Maio.

Then Di Maio also admitted that the resources available for the basic income are "around 7 billion": that means two billion less than the original version of the maneuver and even 10 billion less than what was promised during the electoral campaign for the latest policies.

REGULATIONS ON QUOTA 100 AND CITIZENSHIP INCOME ARRIVAL VIA DECREE

The deputy premier then explained that the rules on the increase in minimum pensions, on the 100 quota and on the basic income will not be included in the text of the maneuver, but will come with a decree that the Government is preparing to launch.

“GOLDEN PENSIONS” ALSO DENIED TO ADJUST TO INFLATION

Furthermore, Di Maio assured that "in the negotiation with the EU that Conte is carrying out in a brilliant way, we recover even more money from the golden pensions: not only do we cut about 40% on the golden pensions of those who have not paid contributions above 4 euros, but we don't even adjust them for inflation. With Salvini and Conte we are perfectly aligned to go to the goal and that is to help the people most in difficulty".

NO TAXES ON HOUSEHOLD CARS

As for the bonus-malus, "there will be no tax on Italian family cars, either new or in use - added the minister - It will only be an eco-bonus on electric, hybrid and methane cars, because there are cities hostage to pollution . We have to start a mobility revolution in Italy”.

TRIA TRAFFICKED TO THE END IN BRUSSELS

Meanwhile, Economy Minister Giovanni Tria, according to what we learn, will remain in Brussels until the end of the negotiations with the European Commission on the numbers of the maneuver. “We are discussing our proposal”, Tria replied to those who asked him how the negotiations with the EU were going. The minister then said that tomorrow he will have other meetings "until an agreement is reached". In short, the games are not over yet, but the prospects seem favourable.
