The public sector takes to the streets. The trade unions of CGIL, CISL and UIL in the sectors of public services, education, health, safety and public and private assistance, universities, research, public functions, private social, local services have called a national demonstration for 8 November in Rome .

“Five years of frenzied linear cuts, wage freezes, over ten years of turnover freezes, an army of precarious workers without certainties and protections, hastily and badly implemented reforms: the system is collapsing, while spending continues to grow despite the cuts in welfare and the high price paid by civil servants, over 8 billion euros in 5 years” say the unions, are the basis of the protest.

The demonstration presents itself as "a challenge to the Renzi government", continues the union statement, after the presentation of the reform of the Public Administration and the announced policies on the subject of labour. In recent weeks, the minister of the PA, Marianna Madia had anticipated the government's decision to extend the block on contracts for public employees also in 2015.

A measure that will lead to savings of 2,1 billion. In fact, this would have been the greater expenditure for the release of salaries according to the forecasts of the Economic and Financial Document presented in April by the government.
