A violent downpour woke up the capital, creating serious inconvenience for users of local public transport and in particular Metro A. Some stops reopened which had been closed due to damage caused by bad weather. The one at Porta Furba is still closed. Expected worsening weather from 14pm.

The storm that hit the capital this morning left strong repercussions on local public transport which was literally brought to its knees for a few hours. Problems, in particular, in the areas near the underpasses and on a section of the underground line A. The situation of local public transport in Rome, as specified on the Atac website, has almost returned to normal, especially as regards the underground service. As for the updates on the bad weather in RomeMeanwhile, from the Campidoglio, they let it be known that a marked worsening of the weather is expected starting from 14 pm.

I hardships for users of local public transport, they also concerned some crucial areas of surface transport. In the morning the area around the underpass of the Tiburtina station has been closed and lines going to the city center have been diverted to another route causing severe delays. Difficult situation for a few hours even on the tram lines that serve on via Prenestina and on one part of Metro Line A in the area between Colli Albani and Subaugusta.

Atac informs that on metro A it remains only the Porta Furba stop is closed and that the metropolitan transport service remains regular on the rest of the line. However, the bulletin issued by the Lazio Regional Civil Protection which foresees a situation of high criticality due to hydrogeological risk of a local nature in the Capitoline territory. The same councilor for the environment of Roma Capitale Estella Marino stated that "phenomena of considerable intensity are expected starting in the early afternoon, around 14 pm, and continuing into the night".
