Bad weather: snow and ice in the centre-north, the circulation of trucks and heavy vehicles at risk

The Autostrade per l'Italia company is evaluating a blockade of trucks and vehicles with a mass exceeding 7,5 tons in the regions most affected by the cold wave that is hitting Italy in these days – For meteorologists it is the week coldest in 27 years.

Snow alert throughout the central-north: the wave of frost is affecting the regions of Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, Tuscany, Emilia and Abruzzo in these hours - and will continue in the coming days and will put traffic on motorways at serious risk, according to the Autostrade per l'Italia company and connecting roads between the south and north of the country.

In particular, it may become necessary, a few days after the strike that brought traders across the country to their knees, a new blockade of trucks and vehicles with a mass exceeding 7,5 tons coming both from the north (Trentino, Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia) and from the south (Lazio, Puglia, Campania).

The company therefore advises all hauliers to reschedule trips to another date, and in general for all motorists traveling to regions at risk of use snow tires and chains.

According to forecasts by meteorologists, this will be the coldest week in Italy in the last 27 years, due to a freezing Siberian wind.
