Bad weather, Isonzo above alert level

The Isonzo river flood service has been active since 3:00 and currently discharges more than 1.700 cubic meters per second and has exceeded the danger level in Gradisca (Gorizia), with the Vipacco tributary.

Bad weather, Isonzo above alert level

As expected, weather conditions worsened across the peninsula, creating further disruption to the earthquake-hit areas of central Italy. Intense rainfall during the night occurred in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, particularly in the eastern area (Valli del Natisone, Alta Valle del Torre) and in the Isonzo basin, where in 24 hours rainfall exceeded 200 mm. The river in Gradisca (Gorizia) has exceeded the danger level.

The rains - informs the FVG Civil Protection - were accompanied by a strong sirocco wind which caused trees to fall and flooding of underpasses, with interruptions to minor roads in the lower Friuli area. Landslides are reported on some roads in Pulfero, San Floriano del Collio and, in the province of Pordenone, the SP 63 in Meduno.
