Maire Tecnimont: new contracts for 926 million, the share goes up

Maire Tecnimont jumps on the Stock Exchange and gains 2,73%, after having been awarded, through its subsidiaries, new contracts for a total value of approximately 926 million dollars (674 million euros) - These are Engineering and Procurement projects (EP), which will involve various countries, from the Dominican Republic to Eastern Europe.

Strong progress is being made in Piazza Affari Maire Tecnimont thanks to the announcement of the award, through its subsidiaries, of new contracts mainly in Engineering and Procurement (EP) for a total value of approximately 926 million dollars (674 million euros ).

In particular Tecnimont Spa, in consortium with Construtora Norberto Odebrecht and Ingenieria Estrella, was awarded the Punta Catalina project in the Dominican Republic. The project involves the construction of an industrial complex of strategic importance for the development of the country. The customer is Cdeee, the national electricity company of the Dominican Republic, and the total value of the contract is almost two million dollars, of which around 690 million dollars (502 million euros) belongs to the Maire Tecnimont Group.

As a technological and strategic partner, Tecnimont will take care of the execution of the Engineering services, the Procurement limited to the power island, the fume treatment system and the control system, as well as the Commissioning services. The project should be completed by the second half of 2017.

The other contracts signed by Tecnimont, KT Kinetics Technology, Stamicarbon and Tecnimont Civil Construction, for a total value of approximately 236 million dollars (172 million euros), mainly concern licensing, engineering and procurement activities. These are projects that will be implemented mainly in Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

In particular, the Group strengthened its presence in Eastern Europe and in the Russian area and the Caspian Sea (Romania, Belarus, the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan) further consolidating its activities in promising markets for the hydrocarbon process industry .

In the polyolefins segment, Tecnimont was awarded a contract for engineering services for the Al Sejeel petrochemical complex (a project developed jointly by Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Petrochemical Company), which will be built in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. The project has the goal of producing 2,2 million tons per year of polymers (Mtpa), including polyethylene (Pe) and polypropylene resins and represents a strategic investment for a large-scale expansion of the hydrocarbon processing industry in Qatar.

The Tecnimont stock currently gains 2,73% with a price of 1,65.
