Capital Mafia: 116 filings requested

The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has asked the investigating magistrate to dismiss 116 people under investigation as part of the Mafia Capitale investigation that shocked Rome in December 2014.

Politicians, entrepreneurs and personalities known in the judicial news and involved in the investigation into the "middle world" following statements made by the defendants.

Among the numerous requests for archiving received this morning, the one concerning the president of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti, stands out in particular.

The Governor had been under investigation in relation to two episodes of corruption (which occurred before 2011 and in 2013) and for a case of bid rigging in 2014. Zingaretti's name had been denounced by Salvatore Buzzi, in the context of some interrogations made in June 2015, but on those words the investigators found no response.

Speaking in particular of politicians, the Public Prosecutor's Office also requested the dismissal of the parliamentarian Vincenzo Piso (ex Popolo della Libertà, now the Misto group), under investigation for illegal financing; Daniele Leodori, president of the Regional Council (robbery of the auction); Alessandro Cochi, former delegate to sport of the Alemanno junta (robbery of the auction), and Riccardo Mancini and Antonio Lucarelli close collaborators of the former mayor of Rome, both under investigation for mafia association.

Among the entrepreneurs, the request for filing came for Luca Parnasi (corruption) and Gennaro Mokbel (laundering), and Ernesto Diotallevi, in the past involved in investigations into the Banda della Magliana. Filing has also been requested for the criminal lawyers Paolo Dell'Anno, Domenico Leto and Michelangelo Curti, who ended up in the register of suspects for mafia association.
