For lovers of cheese and mountain products, the September appointment is in Asiago with Made in Malga 2024 for a series of events all dedicated to the unique flavors of the Italian mountains with a market exhibition of the best producers, masterclasses and guided tastings featuring cheeses paired with extreme wines, artisan workshops, excursions to the mountain huts of the Plateau. From Friday 6th to Sunday 8th September and from 13th to 15th September, the streets of the centre of Asiago will come alive with cheese makers and cheeses from all the Italian mountain agricultural areasA special moment is planned for Saturday 7 September, with the opening of a precious form of Asiago DOP Stagionato 15 anni, produced by the Pennar Dairy
Within the walls of the mountain huts there is an intense production activity that requires constant commitment and many sacrifices. The work is completed by the expert hands of the cheesemakers of the mountain huts, Made in Malga is a unique taste experience and at the same time the opportunity to get to know the protagonists of this ancient cheesemaking art.

Il Masterclass calendar offers a rich and interesting program of thematic tastings of the most sought-after mountain cheeses (Bagòss, Bettelmat, Bitto, Castelmagno, Bleu de Moncenis, Murianeng) paired with mountain wines. Asiago DOP in different ages with spirits and cocktails based on Alpine herbs (Saturday 7 September at 16.30 pm) and with wines of fire (City of Asiago Main Partner Saturday 14 September at 16.30 pm), raw milk cheeses with wines from the Alps, fPiedmontese cheeses with European Abbey wines, Swiss cheeses with wines from the Mediterranean islands, Beppe Giovale's goat cheeses with Aleghe beers, mountain blue cheeses with straw wines, the great cheeses of Lombardy paired with extreme Italian wines and Principi delle Orobie cheeses paired with Pintalpina craft beers.
On display are the best of mountain cured meats, as well as baked goods, jams, liqueurs, balsamic vinegars, teas and herbal teas, medicinal herbs and cosmetics derived from agricultural activity.
At Made in Malga 2024 there will also be the best of mountain charcuterie. From Alto Adige artisanal speck, Tyrolean salamis, artisanal würstel in various versions, bresaola, wild boar, venison and roe deer cured meats. Norcineria from Abruzzo, Nero dei Nebrodi and Nero di Calabria.
And finally honey, mountain bread, jams, liqueurs, balsamic vinegars, teas and herbal teas, medicinal herbs and cosmetics derived from agricultural activity. At the same time, at Made in Malga, in the gardens of Piazza Carli, the 4th edition of the Mountain Beer Festival will take place, dedicated to mountain craft beers, which will host 13 breweries from the Italian Alpine arc. On Saturday 7 and 14 September from 19:00 pm there will be a musical aperitif with DJ Luciano Gaggia.
New for this edition is “Asiago Experience”, a meeting space promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Formaggio Asiago and dedicated to those who want to learn about the precious production of Asiago Prodotto della Montagna, its protagonists and learn the secrets of tasting and pairings. The events, with free admission and reservation required, are organized in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) Veneto, the National Organization of Cheese Tasters (ONAF) Vicenza delegation and the Regional Association of Breeders of Veneto (ARA).
You can taste delicious traditional dishes: gnocchi with Rotzo potatoes prepared by “La Baitina” of Roana, meat dishes from the farms on the Gruuntaal Farmhouse plateau, pizzas from Picci Pizza stuffed with mountain products. As in previous years, there will be dishes with the pizzoccheri, bratwurst, potato tortel, arrosticini, slices of Bracevia sheep meat and artisanal mountain beers. Asiago Bistrot will be managed by Chef Massimo Spallino of the Vecchia Stazione di Canove who will offer tasty dishes with Fresh and Aged Asiago cheese.
