Made in Italy: 400 Assocamerestero meetings with foreign buyers for the agri-food sector

Assocamerestero – the association of Unioncamere and Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad - and Marchet, in collaboration with the Fermo Chamber of Commerce, have organized over 400 business meetings to be held on 18 and 19 June.

The event is part of "True Italian Taste Europe", a project coordinated by Assocamerestero in collaboration with the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad.

“True Italian Taste” – funded by the Ministry of Economic Development in collaboration with the ICE Agency – is also being developed in the USA, Canada and Mexico by carrying out promotion and education actions on authentic Italian products, to promote greater awareness and increase consumption, seeking thus to counteract the phenomenon of Italian Sounding which feeds a turnover of around 54 billion euros per year.

The meetings are attended by 13 foreign importers and distributors coming respectively from Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, the United Kingdom, Spain and Switzerland and operating in the retail, wholesale and e-commerce chains for medium and high-end products.

Protagonists of the meetings 78 Marche food companies of which 26 from Ancona, 12 from Pesaro, 14 from Macerata, 12 from Fermo, 14 from Ascoli Piceno.

Among these also the Monte Monaco agricultural company which produces pasta with organic legume flours with commercial relations with the USA and the Ancona-based company Giampaoli which has been producing biscuits, panettone, nougat, Easter eggs, Easter cakes and ice creams since 1900 which is now also specialized in GMO and gluten free products. Another company from the Marche region known for its care and passion in the production of jams is Amaltea, an all-female company from Senigallia which in recent years, thanks to its products – jams, marmalades and even liqueurs – has managed to carve out a growing space for itself in the sector of organic food and wine production.

“Exports continue to play a fundamental role for Italian food and wine companies, which together with a slow recovery in domestic consumption, could confirm the growth of the sector's performance also in 2018. The markets involved in True Italian Taste are among the first destinations of our products but also those where the Italian Sounding coexists more with the authentic Italian product. With this project, the CCIE also intend to contribute to the entry of Italian companies into new market segments. It is no coincidence that on this occasion we are also presenting the new edition of the Business Atlas, the collection of country guides drawn up every year by the CCIE, which helps the entrepreneur to orientate himself on foreign markets” declared Gaetano Fausto Esposito, general secretary of Assocamerestero. “During these two days, foreign buyers can experience the authentic excellence of the Marche region's agri-food sector first-hand and help companies apply it to their markets”.
