Global M&A deals are heading to close 2015 at the highest levels ever. According to data from Dealogic, if announcements continue at their current pace for the rest of the year, the total value will reach $4.580 trillion, thus beating the previous record of $4.290 trillion set in 2007, before the financial crisis.
However, as the Wall Street Journal points out, it is not certain that activity will continue at current levels and much will also depend on the trend of the global economy and the risk appetite of companies. The latter is a factor that can change sign very quickly.
