M5S: “We want a 5-star government. The Premier? It's not essential, then we'll see"

“We have reiterated what has already been said: we are willing to form a 5-star government. Today we relaunched this opportunity to President Napolitano". This was stated by the group leader of the Movimento 5 Stelle, Vito Crimi, at the end of this afternoon's consultations at the Quirinale with the Head of State.

The executive proposed by the grillini aims to find the votes in Parliament to approve some fundamental measures: "the citizen's income, the relaunch of small and medium-sized enterprises, the cut in the costs of politics", Crimi said again.

The group leader then specified that the M5S will never "give its trust to political or pseudo-technical governments made by these parties" - despite rumors circulating in the morning about a possible opening of the grillini precisely to "pseudo-technical" personalities - but would vote in favor of individual measures "such as electoral reform, the anti-corruption law and the law on conflict of interest, in addition to those I mentioned earlier".

To whom should Napolitano entrust the mandate if he really chooses the 5 Star Movement to try to form the new government? At the moment, it is not known: “If we were entrusted with this task – Crimi said again – we would provide President Napolitano with the name and everything he needs. We already have the program. Today, however, no names have been mentioned."

The other grillina parent company, Roberta Lombardi, commented with a general one: “The name of the candidate for prime minister for the philosophy of the 5 Star Movement is not essential. It's the project that counts”.

Following Napolitano – who this morning received the center-right – will meet the representatives of Civic Choice and Sel, to then close at 18 pm with the Democratic Party.
