Luxottica closed 2017 with revenues of 9,1 billion euros, up 0,8% at current exchange rates and 2,2% at constant exchange rates. In the fourth quarter of last year alone, the company recorded a turnover of 2 billion, up 4,3% at constant exchange rates, but down 2,3% at current exchange rates, due to the "strong revaluation of the euro against the main currencies”. However, Luxottica showed an acceleration in sales in both divisions, wholesale and retail, and a positive performance in Europe, North America, Australia and Brazil.

The note from the eyewear company underlines that "the last three months of 2017 were the best of the year for the wholesale business, like-for-like retail sales, Sunglass Hut in the main geographies and e-commerce". In particular, the Wholesale division turnover amounted to 754 million euros (+4,7% at constant exchange rates, -0,4% at current exchange rates), while that of the Retail division amounted to 1,3 billion (+4,1% at constant exchange rates and -3,3% at current exchange rates).

In the fourth quarter, the Wholesale division reported double-digit sales growth in North America and Brazil.
