Luxury: La Perla sold to Sapinda Holding

The investment company Sapinda Holding has concluded the purchase of 100% of the shares of La Perla Global Management Limited, which controls the company La Perla Group. The economic details of the operation were not disclosed by the Dutch group founded in 2009 and currently led by founder Lars Windhorst

To date, La Perla can count on over 150 single-brand stores worldwide, with more than 1500 employees in its London headquarters.

The company, founded in 1954 by Ada Masotti and known all over the world for its high-end lingerie, thus faced a new change of guard within a few years. In the second half of 2013 it had in fact been taken over by Pacific Global Management, part of Silvio's family holding company Throw and already active in the fashion industry through the largest model and model management network in the world, operating under the brands Elite, Women and The Society.

Scaglia commented on the transaction that has just been completed as follows: “In recent years, La Perla has achieved a true global presence, establishing itself as a successful luxury brand and, for this, I would like to thank our loyal customers and all the people who, with a lot of passion and professionalism, have been able to bring the company to this brilliant result".

“We are satisfied – added Scaglia – that Sapinda has acquired La Perla as it will give continuity to our strategic vision aimed at creating a global luxury brand that represents the multiple facets of femininity. I got to know and collaborate with Sapinda and her CEO, Lars Windhorst, many years ago and, therefore, I am sure that the new investor has the necessary resources to further develop La Perla”.

“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the La Perla company, an iconic brand and a major player in the luxury world,” said the CEO of Sapinga Windhorst. “Silvio Scaglia and his team have done an excellent job of developing the business in an industry that continues to demonstrate enormous growth potential. We are ready to invest further, to improve the company's financial position by pursuing the growth strategy undertaken to date".
