The French luxury group Hermès it closed the first quarter of the year with revenues of 856,8 million euros, up by 10,3%, above market expectations, and by 12,8% at constant exchange rates. Sales were mainly driven by Asia, while activity in Europe proved to be more dynamic than in America.

As expected by the group, the unfavorable exchange rate effects have a negative impact of 19 million euros. Thanks to the flow of tourists and, in particular, to the Chinese clientele, fond of buying luxury goods, Europe "recorded a 12% increase in sales at constant exchange rates against 14% in Asia and 11,1%, XNUMX% for the American market”.
