The Universe after Einstein: Fabiola Gianotti at MAXXI

Fabiola Gianotti, general director of Cern, will open a series of meetings at the MAXXI in Rome with artists, scientists, philosophers. The initiative is connected to the exhibition GRAVITY. Immwork the universe after Einstein, born from the collaboration between MAXXI National Museum of XNUMXst Century Arts, ASI Italian Space Agency e INFN National Institute of Nuclear Physics and still ongoing until 29 April.

Thursday 8 February, althe 18.00, Therefore, Fabiola Gianotti, Director General of CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, co-president of the recently concluded Davos World Economic Forum, famous throughout the world for having contributed to the discovery of the Higgs Boson, talks with Fernando ferroni, INFN president, in the meeting “THE BOSON DI HIGGS AND THE NEW FRONTIERS OF PHYSICS” It will be presented by Giovanna Melandri, president of the MAXXI Foundation. The appointment is at the MAXXI Auditorium with free admission subject to availability. The gratuity is made possible by the participation of Janl as main partner of the exhibition Gravity.

And even if it may seem unusual, the relationship between art and great physics is solid: “LScience is a common language, which knows no ethnic or political barriers. [...] In a fractured world – explained Gianotti in a recent interview – the universal language of science can transcend the interests of individual countries. It can act as a bridge and as a glue. Just like art"

However, the journey to discover neutrinos, particles, gravitational waves and dark matter does not end with Gianotti's visit. In fact, MAXXI continues a program of meetings, all with free admission with the contribution of Enel, which will see the artists At that time & calzadilla with the evolutionist philosopher Telmo parish priests (February 14); the internationally renowned neurobiologist Harald Atmanspacher with the philosopher Robert Casati (February 16); the philosopher Massimo Cacciari with the physicist and mathematician Mario The bandage (March 9), Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi with the President of ASI Roberto Battiston (March 22, 2018), the artist Laurent Grease with the British neurobiologist somir clever (April 27).
