Lufthansa, strike and chaos in Germany

Chaos in the skies over Germany. German airports are haywire because of the Lufthansa airline crew strike. Many flights canceled at the airports of Frankfurt and Berlin Tegel, while problems are expected in Munich in the afternoon. In all it is estimated that around 400 airplanes will remain on the ground.

The mobilization of hostesses and stewards has so far led to the cancellation of half of the flights from Frankfurt (180) and serious consequences of the unrest are also being recorded at the capital's airport. Last Friday, a first wave of strikes involved only the Frankfurt airport.

Lufthansa employees have decided to fold their arms after the failure of a wage negotiation between the company and the unions. The social partners are asking for a 5% wage increase, while the company is only willing to reach 3,5%.

All travelers who have provided a mobile phone number and an email address have already been contacted to report the change in bookings on other flights, while those traveling in Germany can use Deutsche Bahn trains without any surcharge to get to their destination.

However, Lufthansa affiliated companies such as CityLine, Eurowings and Germanwings are not affected by the dispute.
