“In such a turbulent period, characterized by external shocks and regulatory burdens – commented Christoph Franz, chairman of the board of directors – being able to record a similar profit is very significant and makes the Lufthansa Group still a leader in Europe”.

The result of the group includes a net loss of 285 million euros due to discontinued operations, especially British Midland, which will be sold to International Airlines Group (IAG). The net loss of the group The result of current activities is 289 million euros.

Lufthansa, despite the negative result in the separate financial statements, in accordance with the provisions of the German commercial code proposes the payment of a dividend of 8 cents per share to the general meeting on 25 May.
